Thinking about Changing over from Nissan

hey guys i never really been a rotor fan i was always into my nissans but latery i really been thinking about going over to a early FD

thing is i don't know to much about them other them being one of the greatest Sports / race / track cars u can buy

Ok tell you a little about me

I had only 2 cars

First car Nissan silvia S13 Sr20 turbo

i got that at the start of my L plates had that for 9 months got over the **** way it handled and the lack of power and it was to old
old it to a Friend

Got myself a R33 boat GTS-t as i got my Red P's i had that car for a While now getting over it doesn't handle that great but shes a nice sports car
its a mild modded R33

I am thinking about Selling it saving for about 6 months then borrowing a bit then getting my Self a nice

Rx7 S6 near stock

Thing is i don't know much about them like info on these things will help

-Pricing don't think i can really go over $30000 i will be saving for a while if i wanted over that

-Turbo set up on them are the single or twin i ain't sure whats the - and + on both

-How much Fuel do they use with growing fuel pricers

-i heard bad things about rotors to look after if that just the older ones or is it also the FD's i don't have the best job and makes lots of money to run a $$$ car i can run the skyline ok but if its heaps more then that i might have to go something esle

-Power and handling With bolt on mods like exhaust intakes how much power can u get

-what 1/4 mile times can they run near stock

- is it hand to find someone to work on them

Thanks guys any help would b sik

^How is R33 > rx7 ? R33 is not all that great when it comes to performance as a sports car especially when it's a GTS-t. I'd still trade with rx7 it since it's a rare car...hehe

- You can get a very nice single rx7 for 30k!

I know your only 17....Although for 17k( usa) you can get on hell of an fd w/ a good built motor. Do you have access to a properly set-up and TUNED.. Yeas TUNED FD?? Once you get into the logistics of a refined sports car.. Hence a properly valued fd.. Its hard to surpass. Remember!! Everything supporting must come first..(good motor, turbo, fuel system, etc. and so on...) Once everything is working together! FD#S baby.... Before you go any further do a lot of searching.. Gain all the knowlegde you can about these rotarys. Have fun.G

I would say go for the RX-7 because you live in Australia.

Take it to www.dysonrotary.au Those guys have some very fast cars and tuning knowlege.
Somethings you may not be used to with a rotary:

Overheating
Blowing motors
unreliable
lower pump gas HP than the competition.

However this is what I have experenced in Canada and the US.
You are in Australia, where they have 800hp 13b's. The shops seem to have faster, higher hp cars and the Ausie rotor mechanics seem to have more knowlege and sucess then the average Joe rotor here.

Too bad the r33 that is mentioned here is the one with the small motor and single turbo. I believe it has a 2.0L single turbo that barely pushes 200hp; correct me if I'm wrong. I think you guys are comfusing the gts-t with the gtr. The gtr is the one with the all wheel drive and the 2.6L motor. Either way the gtr isn't that impressive considering my stock subaru sti will beat one every time. But if you want to trade your fd for a slower car and wrong side drive go ahead. Just remember civics will be handing you your *** at every light. Just my $0.02.

my skyline is a Rb25det not a r32 Rb20det
Big different you Us guys don't know much about skylines

Skylines come in 3 types
R32 1989 to 1993
R33 1993 to 1998
R34 1998 to 2003
now there was 3 types of each

GTS Non turbo
Gts-t Single Turbo rwd or awd
GTR twin turbo awd

but the Gts-t r different from year to year

a r32 Gts-t is a rb20det which is a 2L single turbo there **** about 200hp

then there what i haver33 gts-t has a Rb25det newer car its a 2.5L single turbo

Gtrs r Rb26dett in all r32 r33 r34
the newer the car the faster the motor

R33 Gts-t r easy to mod and get a easy 300hp with Bolt ons
a GTR r33 wood get near 500hp with Bolt ons thats the different and GTR isn't a track god

and the guy that thinks his STI wood beat a Gtr has to b shitting himself
Lol GTR r crazy fast stock the sti might just beat it u mod a GTR and u will eat a Sti like a little toy car it is

R32 gtrs run 12's stock
r33 low 13's
and r34s 12's
with about $5000 u can get about 40% more power outa a GTR there power is held back due to jap laws
also they wood owe a rex on the track

I beat STI rexs in my Gts-t off rolling starts

I was talking stock for stock. If you want to talk modded for modded then of course the gtr will be faster. You also forgot one thing that the sti's in North America are 2.5L not the 2.0L ones you have. But you guys also get the special models over there. By the way try racing a sti off the line. I guarentee you that you will be behind by a car length at least. No ones dening that the gtr is a great car but the gts-t is a whole different story. BTW why didn't you buy a gtr instead of your gts-t?

Holy S**t. Since when do R32 gtr's run 12s quarter stock. No skyline has ever broke the 12s quarter mile stock barrier (unless your talking about the special model this year). They are way too heavy to hit the 12s stock. Unless you guys in Austrailia have a shorter quarter mile than we due.
