think my clutch fork is shot

When I let up off the clutch I hear a clikking ,grinding noise When I press the clutch it goes away.
I have a pretty brand new ACT S/S with a ACT flywheel.I also replaced the throwout bearing and the polit bearing, Dave at KDR did the work.

If you can actually engage the gear, chances are your clutch fork is working. When my clutch fork broke, the clutch pedal would stick to the floor, and I couldn't get it into gear. Others who had the fork break on them expressed more or less the same symptoms (see https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=clutch+fork), so I don't think your fork is broken.

I also had griding at a later point (after my fork was replaced). It turned out to be a combination of a bad pilot bearing (which wasn't replaced before, don't ask me why). The clicking I had was an extra throwout bearing that was left in the clutch!! Yep, it was just left there, and it somehow got wedged under the fork, and that broke the fork. The bearing just got bent....crazy, eh?

so if you can engage gear when the car is off but not when its on, could it be the clutch fork too??

cause i had this problem and i replaced 2 shifter bushings and the pressure plate and im still having this problem..both clutch and pp are aftermarket with low miles..

problem is is that the car wont go into gear when im at a complete stop.. if im moving, rowing through the gears are perfect.. it only blocks me when im at a pause..

could it be a p bearing or throwout bearing?

I had the pilot bearing go out on me...and before it finally did, I had very VERY obvious symptoms. The car would go into gear fine, but coming out of 1st, oh man, the car would make a very rough grind/bog, and it got worse and worse until it sounded like the clutch was gonna break apart lol. Finally, the car just wouldn't go into gear at all. It was that sudden (the not going into gear thing)

The other time tho, when my clutch fork snapped, THAT'S when shifting in motion was fine, but I couldn't get it into first a lot of times from a stop. That's what your problem sounds like...

Before you drop the tranny, try taking off the inspection plate on the tranny, stick a flexible flashlight in, and using an extendible mirror, stick it in, and inspect the clutch fork. You should visually be able to see if it's intact or not (although it's harder to see the other side...)
