Think I just experienced my first Blowup.

After having the car for 11 months, at 96,150 miles my car died yesterday going through a mountain pass (Ortega Highway, for the socal people) going through listening to music, got a weird boost spike while on the gas i turned off my music and the car was running louder than usual and did not feel right so I turned off at the next pullout and right when I came to a stop the car died and would not restart. I towed it home and next day I went up to get a new battery and hooked it up and the car started but was running REALLY ruff so I immediatley turned it off.

Sound like blown seals?

thanks

If it does manage to start, is the starter shaking? Does it sound like a Harley? Is the engine shaking in the engine bay alot?

Mine sounded like a helicopter flying over my head when it was at idle....not to mention the smoke and the intense gas smell from the exhaust.

Sounds like time for a compression test.

first check the map sensor. Then do compression test.

^ Agreed, sounds like running really rich from an unpluged map sensor.. compression test will give the true status of the motor.
