i think the price of a good condition under 100k miles stock FD should be around 14-15 k. that is where the price shoudl bottom off for the next 5 years or so. Over 100k stock FD with a new motor should go for about the same price. To me, mileage on these cars should be negligeable when searching for one (unless you want really low miles), it should all have to do with how many mile are on the engine and turbos.

The miles on an RX-7 chassis are by far the most important determinant of market price. The idea that they are 'negligible' is preposterous.

There are literally hundreds of wear items that are going to be suspect on a car with 100k+ miles - wheel bearings, CV boots, suspension bushings and bearings, coolant and vacuum hoses, wire harnesses in the engine bay, door locks, AC o-rings, etc. Most of these parts are very expensive on an RX-7 (suspension bushings alone cost well over $1000 to replace, not including labour).

I spent a year eyeing the market before buying my current RX-7 and can tell you that miles, cosmetic condition, and year of production are pretty much all that matter. Sure, a new engine will make a car more desirable and may add a thousand or two so to the market price; similarly, $10-$15k worth of modications may add a thousand or two. However, the basic market value is set by the chassis miles and production year (and to a lesser extent condition).

Cars with 100k miles or more are selling for around $9-$10k at the moment; I've seen some with non-blown engines for $8k if their condition is not great. Unless it has a new engine, paying more than $11k for the car at the start of this thread would be silly. If it had, it might be worth $12k.
