As the title states, I am wondering if these are the stock fittings for a 93 touring. The car sat up for a long time and I am trying to get all the systems back up and running. I did some research and the stuff I was finding for r12 looks like they have gray caps on them. This kinda looks like its been converted already. The system has remained closed the entire time so I was hoping I could vacuum it down and see if it holds then recharge it.
I wouldn't go off just the color of that cap; they make all sorts of colors for R12 and R134. I need a close-up picture with any of the caps off. I'm mainly looking to see if there was an adapter installed after the conversion. It looks like this:
My 93 R1 has threaded AC charge ports which is the R12 style. There are adapters that thread onto the R12 port so you can use the quick connect style R134 connections. If memory serves R12 ended in 92-93 then everyone went to R134.
Those ports on your car are r134 style. Could be stock if the car was made late 93. Either way the replacement refrigerant is ok for R12 or R134 (duracool or Redtek brands anyway) This is not an RX7 but still a R12 connection
