is there such thing as an r2 model

i have seen the regular, touring and R1 models, but never heard of R2 officially, just need to know cause people are posting r2 on autotrader

R1 is 1993 only. R2 is a slightly changed version of the R1 which took place of the R1 for 1994-1995.

R2s are R1 type cars (dual oil coolers, suede seats, stiffer suspension, non-BOSE, lip spoiler, wing, etc.) after '94.

The R2s have a slightly softened suspension from the R1, otherwise they are identical.

However, R2s do not have 1st year RX-7 paint peeling issues.

Yeah, The center console for the R2 is actually textured, where as it is not on the R1 series.

That's just part of the interior change they made to all 94s.

The R2 suspension is softer than the R1s and then all the other changes for 94 also took effect (ie airbags, different interior trim)
