Tempting FD on E-Bay

My old FD.. seeing it again makes me really want to buy it back.
How's the price on that for FD's these days? I sold that 3 years ago for $17k as it sits (minus the radiator shroud). What's a fair price on it?

from the ebay ad: "This is your CHANCE to own a piece of history! Only 1400 or so RX-7 came in during '90s and very few great-shaped RX-7s exist today - DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!"

I can't speak for 2000, but since early 2003 prices of FDs have remained very stable. Perhaps a drop of a few thousand for high-mileage tired cars with poor paint and interiors (and these cars are still way overpriced IMHO), and a slight increase for clean low-mileage relatively stock cars. Most still sell in the $12-$15k range.
eBay and the classifieds on this board have always been the same - lots of cars hanging around for a long time or being relisted because a small band of people still think their 100k+ mile clunker is worth $20k. Reasonably priced cars generally sell in a few weeks.

I've never noticed FD's selling as soon as their put on the market, it's kinda the nature of the beast when it comes to a moderately expensive collectors/sports car, the right person has to find it and have the funds available, they all sell eventually it's just a matter of the owner being able to sit on it until the time comes.
That car is in San Luis Obispo. I live there, and can easily check it out for you if you like. I have not seen it driving around town. I may even know the owner
Let me know if you would like me to look at it for you.

Exactly as I predicted the auction for this car has ended with ZERO bids on it. So much for claims of strong prices for FD's. The claims keep getting contradicted by the evidence. (Oh, there's always an excuse. Wrong mods, wrong color, wrong mileage, etc, etc. But the fact remains. These cars are not being snapped up at their asking prices. If you're looking to be a buyer it's a good time to "Let's Make A Deal.)

Please people, wise up. It's to your advantage as both a buyer AND a seller. I get the feeling that most of the people in this thread have bought or sold maybe 1 or 2 cars in their life. After you do 8 or 10 you'll get a clue to how it works. If you think an asking price is what the car actually sells for, you have a whole lot to learn.
Wait a minute.....if on the other hand you ACTUALLY DO think the asking price is the selling price, then my friend, I have a car for YOU!

And your next prediction is that Amy Winehouse is going to spend another stint in rehab? The minimum bid on that car was set above its market value so only a really clueless person would have bid on it. You can conclude precisely nothing from this auction. You are familiar with how eBay works?
LOL!!!! You can conclude the most important fact. It DIDN'T sell!
As I said, the people who claim the market for FD's is strong always come up with some excuse. But this is just the latest in a string of cars that haven't sold on e-bay. And when cars aren't selling you can conclude the market isn't strong, despite the claims of some current (self-interested) owners.
