Temp. Outside / Boost Spikes?
Temp. Outside / Boost Spikes?
Wondering if I'll run into boost spikes with the nights being a little colder. Tonight it's dropping to 11 degrees celsius, or 52F. With only an intake and a DP will I run into boost spikes? Thanks in advance.
You could, though...it would need to be in the 30s - 40s to spike it hard. Watch for fuel cut, don't overdo it or...blammo. The real problem is the MAP system these cars have doesn't react fast enough to these changing conditions. It is the leaning out that gets you.
you will NOT boost spike with only dp and intake at 52 degrees. EVEN if you did, I cant imagine it going past 11psi, which wont be to big of a concern. You might get a little creep, but to get a boost spike you would really need to have more airflow in your exhaust, ie a midpipe.
When its cold outside my boost will raise from 12psi to 14psi but it never goes above that. So it may spike a little so just keep an eye on it when you first start boosting.
You also have an open exhaust, with a non-restricted midpipe and thats what causing your boost spike.
