I will come back and put a better silver on the lip...I've also had some people say Polish the lip. Then clearcoat the whole thing. Also give me some ideas on the centercap.

i say black the center cap and polish the lip, OR silver the center cap and silver the lip. IMO three seperate colors is a little too busy. What paint are you using? I used dupli-color high perf. wheel paint to do my gunmetal rims and its held up WELL.

I used Plasti-Kote from advance auto. It's an auto body paint. I also used a clearcoat by Plasti-Kote...it's amazing how fast the stuff dries. Ok keep coming with the ideas

Ok thanks, Its been a little while since they've been painted and I'm also waiting on new tires from the tire rack. I got some Yokohama AVS ES100's (245/45/16) for $93. I can't wait to put them on and see how they're going to look. Have you guys ever seen anybody just paint the spokes and leave the lip silver as I have?

Thanks

Jack

Paint the center's all black, then go back with touch up paint and outline the symbol in silver.
I've personaly got OZ Mito's with black spokes and polished lip and polished rivets(?) on my BB FD.

You've done an excellent job so far.

Thanks for the compliments and ideas guys. I didn't know how much the centercaps stood out...wow! I'll probably paint them black and leave the logo silver. I'll have some more pics soon. The paint was about $5.00 per can from advance auto and one can does one wheel and some. I've also just gotten done with my 99 spec tail light conversion. I'll show some pics up later.

Thanks

Jack

just a ? for you guys with painted wheels, when you go to put your lug nuts back on, do you worry about them chipping the paint where they are spinning against the wheel while you are tightening them down? seems like they might dig into the paint a little, i was wondering if anybody had a problem with that...
