Targa top RX7
Just an idea ...But I have 93 rx7 with a sun roof...I was wondering if anyone has done a targa top to there FD I was thinkin that it might look really nice. The lines from the sun roof might match up exactly where you could make the cuts all the way across. And how would you go about getting a top that matches perfect for when you want the top on ..Has anyone done this

There is NO way to do that and maintain the structural integrity. Even with adding x-bracing or other similar bracing at the lower body (which would be extremely difficult and heavy), the car will certainly not be as stiff as with a solid roof.
But hey, people do lots of stupid things to their FDs.

including letting people with the name rynberg drive them
Just kidding man, but yea no way at all to brace that up, my friend has a NSX and once we went over a speed bump and he told me to put my hand on the windsheild and rest my arm on the door.. I could actualy feel the whole roof moving, kinda scary

T-tops, Targa, even sunroofs are not worth paying extra for or turning down a car that doesn't have it (if it was an option) IMO.
T-tops in my Mr2 meant getting out of the seat to set it up and dance around the car a bit. Same with a Targa top. I like to lock up where I park my car, so unless you have the comfort of just leaving your car bare for all to see and steal as they please, it just becomes more of a nuisance to set up and then tear down for every drive.
I don't even use my sunroof on my FD all that often, sun beams down on my head from above and it gets annoying :P

Only in Japan
I used to leave my Skyline open with windows down when I lived in Japan, nobody will messed with it. This is out in town though, amazingly when I go back in the military base thats when I have to lock up my car since most of the american kids on base have sticky hands. LOL.

how much would getting a targa top cost..ball park figure???? (just curious)
So even with a roll cage it would still would maintaine structural balance??
At high speeds would it it just shake or would it actually throw off the balance of the car, driving in a straight line.
