Cool tank of gas?

i was wondering how fast you guy go throught a tank of gas when you have atleast 400 wrhp? i am thinking of buying a rx7 and selling my car because i only get at most 8 mpg if i stay off the throttle. oh yea the car i have now is a '69 charger with a 383 mag. who can stay off the gas in one of those? i get horrible gas mileage like i think around 5mpg with my lead foot and have to put premium no less (~2.30/gal.).. its not all bad though it has 68000 orig miles and pulls like no other. i remember one time i peeled out from a light and pulled so hard with the v8 lowend torque when i let off the gas my friend hit the windshield(only lapbelts none of those wussy lifesaving stupid reliable 3pt belts..haha )

A lot of it depends on the port on the motor. I have an aggressive port with some overlap, and have been making over 400 rwhp for over 4 years now. Having said that:

Cruising on the highway, 20-22 mpg
Around town, 10-12 mpg------->idling kills my fuel consumption
Mix of both, 15-16 mpg
Roadrace course, 6-7 mpg
