Question Takeo Kikuchi Driving

Hello!

I bought a '93 Efini RX7 with Takeo Kikuchi Driving engraved on the key and would like to know what that means. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

i think its some sort of fashion company, like POLO RALH LAUREN, but i dont know why the name would be engraved onto your key. The company usually makes watches and desinger clothes.

Lightbulb

That's exactly what my online search found out. Closest I came come to it is some sort of amalgamation of Mazda and Takeo Kikuchi in 2000, but the associated site www.tributelink.com is down.

I was thinking that maybe the RX is some sort of modified edition.

It's certainly got a few mods to it. Interior has 5 HKS gauges, on windscreen rev/speed display, turb timer, break distributor, manual engine fan override, apart from the other cosmetics such as the Recaro buckets. And probably had other stuff too judging from the marks of double sided tape I found around the cockpit.

Apart from Razo gearbox, straight Apexi exhaust, variable height Apexi susps, 3 (!) intercoolers (main and two (radiators?) side smaller ones beneath each side of the front bumper vent), added engine stabilizing hydraulic, modified ant and for struts, twin HKS filters

I see..
The piping leading to the oil coolers, has also been changed. It's bigger to the point where the lamps's surrounding black plastic had to be removed otherwise they couldn't swing down as the piping would be in the way. Ever heard of that? What effect would that have?

...and a horrible nardi steering wheel - that would be the first thing I would get rid of.

Other than that, looks pretty sweet.

my car, too, has evidence of previous mods. But it's more fun adding them yourself anyway, I think (I'd rather pick and choose the parts I want).

'takeo' and 'kikuchi' are common japanese names, but I think you'll find it's just a designer key doohicky, nothing more.

post a pic.

Several companies make these. Can't remember if there's a mazdaspeed version, but there is a fujita one, I think.

It was also one of the standard upgrades in later model fds.

i'm not sure about the doohicky naming.. the writing says 'Takeo Kikuchi Driving' and the emblem is TKO with the O being a wheel. I'm attaching a scan that i enhanced to better show the logo and wording.

The nardi steering wheel flew out a month ago. Replaced it, plus gear **** and handbrake with a Momo set that set the pace.

Below are a couple of pics of the front and rear. They were taken when rx was still in japan before being shipped over, ergo the plate..

do you have a better pic of that exhaust?

the pic of the key is doing funny things to my eyes not sure what I'm looking at. (by 'doohicky' I meant 'thingamajig' or 'whats-a-ma-call-it') :p

have you checked the ecu yet?

the key scan is the best i could do, given that i don't feel like wrestling with the ring again to remove the key to put it flat any idea about the symbols on it?

i'm still pretty green at the car.. but i'm learning. re checking ecu, can you tell me more pls?
