Tach and Speedometer quit!!

I just fired up the FD this morning, and both my tachometer and speedometer started to rise and both quit about a second later. All the other instruments work fine, and there are no other problems. This happened about a year ago, but I just parked the car, shut it off, fired it back up and the gauges came back up just fine and never faltered, until now.

I checked the fuses on the interior and everything's fine, but I'm sorry to say the stickers for the fuseboxes under the hood were removed by the previous owner, so I don't even know if there's a dedicated speedo/tach fuse or anything under the hood. So basically, has anyone else had this problem and if so, what could I do to troubleshoot it? I'm hoping that since both gauges shut off at the same time, that it's not a problem with the gauges themselves but with a connection somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
