Tach Repair???

Heyy!
I have few tachometers which I wanted to get fixed. Who repairs them?
  1. 99 Spec Tach (Can't get it calibrated after removing needle to change faces)
  2. 99 Spec Tach (Same thing but this one came out with the rod which goes into the motor etc)
  3. 93 Tach (Bounces or gets stuck)
  4. 93 A/T Tach (Doesn't Work)

fzkhan7,

Are you sure those tachs are electrically bad? How did you verify the problem is isolated to these tachs? You may be aware that the Speedo board feeds signals to the tach. The one with a pulled spindle may be beyond repair or at least replace the motor assembly. Then see if its electronic problem remains.

The bouncing tach may be fixed by resoldering IC1 on the small tach board. How did you try to calibrate the 2 tachs?

1. You'll need to zero out the motor and re-stab the needle correctly.
2. Is beyond repair. You'll need a new motor as addressed above.
3. Could be just a small soldering/cap issue. Check the speedo board and replace the cap, as needed.
4. Same as #3. Check the speedo board for a bad cap or soldering issue.
