Synthetic oil or regular oil????
#2
most have said not to use synthetic in the engine, but there are a few people on here who do it and say its fine. i tend to be a sheep on this one and use regular. most important thing is to change it regularly 2-2.5k miles

i have 87500 on original engine and just put in royal purple fully synthetic and have had no problems what so ever. I was too told it depends on the mileage the lower the miles you can you sythentic but higher mileage you should use regular with a synthetic additive. I dont know but like i said i have had no problems with fully synthetic.

This topic has been beaten to death many times over but continues to be a great conversation piece AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE.
All the Mazda dealership techs that I have spoken to recommend regular dinosaur oil. Why, because synthetic oil does not burn-off completely when injected to the combustion chamber and thus ruining/or possibly ruining the apex seals.
Why do the rotary race cars use synthetic oil then? Because they have a separate intake for the oil injection that uses regular dinosaur oil.
How can you prevent coking your turbos since the rotary is an extremely hot engine producing very high exhaust temps coupled with 2 turbos that are very hot? By cooling them down properly.
For a 4 stroke turbocharged engine, there is no substitute for Synthetic.
I've had my FD since new and have never had an oil related problem, 13+ years
