symptoms of pinched primary-rail seals/grommets ?

Although I used some Parker's O-ring lube and DOUBLE-checked that I did NOT pinch or mis-align the primary-rail's seal/grommet, there was some concern that I may have PINCHED it during my dyno run.

What are the symptoms of that ?

Vaccuum is good/the same before changing out my primaries, but the engine does "pop" a little after lifting off the throttle.

Thanks,
:-) neil

I think the pop thing is unrelated.

The grommet does not perform the task of sealing. It is mostly a heat and vapor insulator. The o-rings can't pinch once they're properly installed, as far as I know. The only thing that could go wrong is they could leak. As long as you got them from a reliable source (RC, WitchHunter, Mazda), I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Do you mean the grommets that go in here? Heck, my engine HAD no grommets when I tore it apart! They were absolutely missing. I didn't really notice any weirdness though.

It's pretty much impossible for them to mis-install if you used new parts. If they were way off, you'd have a vacuum leak there, giving you a higher idle.

You can pressure test the system to verify - if there is air leaking out around the gaskets, you can hear it. But, I doubt that's the problem.
