Cool FUEL LEAK: Question

On full boost (7psi at the moment) my FD has been giving me a brief fuel smell.
I went trouble shooting, my focus was on a fuel hose that wasn't put on to my complete satisfaction (hose from injectors to secondary rail) and i found:

1: as well as the hose not being on the secondary rail connector completely there appeared to be small imperfections in the hose (i.e. a tear but did not bubble under water).
2: the bolt through the rail connector didn't appear to be properly aligned.

so my question... could this bolt have created backpressure that would open the split on the hose under throttle load? therefore, be the cause of my fuel smell?

also, would the secondary rail sense low fuel pressure and lower boost to compensate?

The fuel system is not that complicated. Fuel just goes through the system - if it leaks out, the car has no idea and won't change boost.

Dunno in NZ, but in the US you can get a fuel recall kit that includes all the fuel lines and a bunch of other parts for a reasonable price.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR until this problem is fixed. Fuel leak = engine fire = no more car.
