Switched to Mobil 1 Super Syn

I've been a die-hard dino juice addict for years now. My last Turbo II lasted 168,000 miles. I change the oil in my FD every 1500 or so. Overkill, maybe, but for $11 and piece of mind it's worth it.
SOOOO after much reading and praise, I made the switch........to synthetic.
My first overall impression was nothing different. As I started to drive the car, it did feel smoother.
But other than that, it was no different. My oil temps did stay lower though I must say and if they get up after driving hard they come down faster as well.
My only complaint is now the car idles rougher a little. Maybe because sythetic uses a type of detergent it loosened some crap. I'm using 10w30 now because it's slowly getting cooler out. We'll see after my next oil change because I'm sure I have a diluted mixture now (dino oil mixed in that did not get drained - oil cooler, lines, ect.) so we'll see.............Hope this helps!

The only reason I've heard NOT to use synthetic oil was that it could clog the cats. Can anyone confirm if that's true? I bought a case of Mobil1, but I've yet to use it.

Thanks,

Thumbs up Mobil 1

After reading numerous threads, I made the decsion to switch. The first thing I notices was a smoother idle and faster RPMs. So far so good!
