Super Pro bushing install and feedback

I recently installed two sets of super pro bushings, one for my own car and one for a fellow member. The install of the bushings were pretty straight forward. I installed the full kit minus the toe links, trailing arm and rack bushings. I did not have time to do the rack bushings and i have aftermarket trailing and toe links.

These are the things that i notice with the Super Pros that i have not seen documented before. And i just want to share my experience so that others wont be confused when they install theirs.

For the front lower control arm bushings, there are two bushings on each arm. One is called the front position and one is called the rear position. One of them is longer than the other. I just forget which one is longer. Super Pro uses the same bushing for both positions. They just come with different length pins and different packaing with different part numbers on the bag. Since the bushings are the same, the part nubers on the bushing are the same. So the bushing number wont match the part number on the bag for one of the positions. This makes the bushings seem to have been misboxed. Because all the other bushings numbers match what was on the package. But its not a mistake, its suppose to be like this.

When you install the LCA bushings, there will be a gap between the two sections of the bushings and the gap will be different for the front position and rear position. One will be half and inch and ther other will be about a inch. Its because they use the same bushings for both positions. I was most concern about the huge gap inbetween the bushings.

The two piece bushings install really easily, almost like they are a little too small. This really concered me in the beginning. I have only installed "Energy Suspensions" bushings before and they are always a really tight fit. And the two sections would always meet and touch. And the pins were also a realy tight fit. The pins on the Super Pro are not that tight and some bushings install a little easier than others. As if the diameter of the bushings are a little off.

With the Energy Suspension bushings, the bushing would only rotate around the metal pin. But the Super Pro bushings would sometimes rotate inside the control arms. I dont know if this is the way they are designed but i am not use to it.

These are all minor issues with the bushings. But when i went to drive the car, the car felt more stable, less slopy, and more responsive than the stock bushings with 110k. There was more feel of the road from the Super Pros. It doesnt bother me. It kind of feels like you are driving with a little more tire press than normal.

All in all i am happy with the performance of the Super Pro bushings. I have only driven the car a few times since the install. BTW, I pm Rob about the bushings and he was very fast to respond and was very professional. I just wanted to share my personal experience with the bushings.

I noticed all the same things but in my experience all these issues are common amongst aftermarket bushings.

There is a multi page thread with feedback on these on this forum. I think wanklin has a link to it in his thread somewhere.
