Super cheap 4.77 final drive gears?

So if the rx8 4.44 gears fit in the FD rear end and also fit in the s2000. and the front 4.778 gears from a 94-02 kia sportage 4x4 fit in the s2000, they should fit in the FD too right? you can get a new set for 292 right now , I'm gonna pick up a diff from the junkyard to try it out see if they fit in an auto FD diff I have

I wouldn't do 4.77's in a daily driver or a car you plan on taking on a highway trip, but yeah that should do the trick.

Later RX-8's had higher R&P's as well, that's another option.

some of that is wrong, the Kia is a 7" ring gear, so it fits the miata/NA rx7, i think the s2000 too.

yeah I have to look into it a bit more see how s2000 guys get the rx8 R & P to work.
I was thinking about it at work tonight , i'll probably just go with the rx8 4.44 or just stock 4.1 depends what i can find for cheap

The R & P are going into my spare FD chassis i'm building into a full track car. I got an auto diff in a trade, im just running nonsequential twins so i need all the mechanical advantage i can get

I've looked into that swap before - pretty sure it is like the others stated, those are 7" gears and don't fit an FD. That swap is mostly done with 1st Gens IIRC.
