I searched with no luck.
Anyone know the difference in weight between the glass and steel sunroof assembly?
I'm wondering if it would be worth it to either...
A: Swap from glass to steel
or
B: Non-sunroof skin conversion.
But if the weight difference is significant between glass and steel, I might just start looking for a steel outer panel.

You'd be doing a major conversion to to go from sunroof to no sunroof. I bet its probably in the amount of 20 lbs though. Between the motor and rails and extra seals and such.
I can't remember the figure, but as I recall there was a thread at one point, and the glass moonroof is significantly heavier, as you might imagine being glass vs. sheet metal.
I swapped from glass to metal, there is a significant weight difference just lifting the two side by side, although I didn't weigh them. I'd say that the metal sunroof weighs no more than 5-6 lbs.

jimlab said years ago that his weighed 9.2, but more recently someone said theirs weighed about 5lbs too, so I'm not sure why there is a difference. I'm interested in seeing what it actually weighs though.
