Sunroof wants to lift when car is moving.

This morning on my way to work, I'm cruising on the interstate and when I rolled up both windows, the sunroof (steel, not glass) started to lift from the front. Worried it was going to fly off, I simply put it in tilt mode and cracked my windows again.

I searched on here but couldn't find any information from someone else running into this issue. Any ideas while I sit here at work?

Thanks,

Steve

I had the same problem with mine. It actually popped out of the track once. If you slam your door shut, youll notice that the whole sunroof assy will pop up when the door closes. I messed with it to see what the issue possibly was and I couldn't find anything.

I'd take the inner cover off and check the 4 nuts are tight/still attached. Failing that, You'll need to get the head liner out and see what's going on. If the sunroof is sitting too high, its all adjustable with the head liner out.

I forgot to update you guys on Friday. Before I left work, I checked everything out and found the hardware for mounting points to the rail were missing on the passenger side which I find strange. Look down and there was one nut on the passenger side and luckily had a matching nut at home that I was able to use. Everything is good and solid again.
