I fed my FD 5 gals of 100 octane from Sunoco last week and I LOVE IT! After a few runs, I noticed a difference in acceleration. I must fill the tank with more.
They sell Sunoco here at the track(Infenion Raceway)...its good stuff, people buy it nonstop despite the 7.40ish a gal price for the 100 octane. However, unless your gas is horrid out there, you shouldnt notice a difference between it and pump.

Thats like putting 93 octane in a car that just needs 87.
Like it wont do anything besides put a bigger hole in your pocket.
I laugh when my friend asks me all the time, "hey will my car go faster if i put super in it??"
LOL

theres really only 1 reason to run higher octane fuel, preignition prevention. the higher octane takes longer to burn.
throw that in with AI, and 20psi boost, youre good for some power

The problem is the average person has no idea what octane rating means...fuel stations label higher octane fuels as "premium" as a marketing strategy so people thing it's better for their car.
In actuality, if your engine can burn 87 octane SAFELY, then you will actually LOOSE performance pumping in 93 because it is more difficult for the engine to burn effectively.

My buddy with an S13 STOCk said his car performs WAY better with premium, so my other friend pumped his gas for him one day and put 87 into it..later asked my friend if he really feels the difference and when he said yeah my friend told him he put 87 octane in it.

But people swear by putting higher octane because higher number should be higher performance right? lol
I guess let them waste their money.
