summit racing water pump

I seen in the Summit catalogue an electrical water pump for FDs. Has anybody tried it? good ? bad?

I've never heard of anyone using it, however I do know a lot of the big power domestic guys use them for better cooling.

A buddy of mine got it a while back.. we looked at it realized that it wasnt very fesable to put it on due to the cooling set up on the FD's. I wouldnt recomend the average FD owner trying to put it on. It's more designed for the serious drag race FD's...

Being a electric pump it's probably gonna wear out pretty fast if you drive the car daily.
Not worth the extra HP it will free up

Big advantage to an electric pump is that after you shut the engine down you can still circulate coolant through the radiator and motor.

i believe there is a 2nd genner on the forum running one. i looked into it a long time ago, main reason was to stop heat soak after shut down, like what DamonB pointed out. my conclusion was its not worth the trouble.
