Suggestion for Clutch street use?
Hi, close to replace the clutch on my Fd that has about 55K miles (76.000km)
Only street use and about 330 RWP
I was thinking about ACT HDSS?
But what about a centerforce dual friction clutch kits?
Any other suggestion?
Should I also replace flywheel?Anything else?
A clutch line with a stinlees one??

^^I've driven on all of them and IMO the Spec was one of the worst. Horrible pedal feel, I've been very happy since getting rid of it. It held fine, but for driving feel the ACT beats it hands down.

My vote at those power levels is for an ACT ss hd as you mentioned, and if you want room to grow in the future choose the Extreme pressure plate.

The ACT Street/Strip (ZX3-HDSS) is popular and plenty for your needs. IIRC good to 400 hp and torque. It's a little stiffer than the stock clutch but not overly so. I've been running one now for ~7 years and have no complaints.
The stainless line is a good idea. I recommend a new clutch fork, the original has been known to fatique and break, especially with the addition of a stiffer pressure plate. Consider a new throw-out bearing and rear transmission seal too, they aren't much. At only 50k your flywheel should be OK, but look for hot spots. Consider replacing, or at least re-packing the pilot bearing.
If you end up removing the flywheel you could also re-torque the tension bolts. Good time to replace the transmission gear oil too.

ACT HD. Unless you are planning to go big in the near future....then I would hold out for a twin plate something. I only suggest this because it makes no sense to spend 600 now only to turn around and have to spend 1200 in the future.
Here's my 02. The 6 puck sprung clutches all have a sharp engagement. When I replaced my OEM clutch on my fd back in 2003, I replaced it with one of these.

Sure this was overkill for my stock engine at the time but I was buying it really for my future 20b swap. The clutch pedal was a little stiffer but nothing outrageous. Your gonna have to work any sprung 6 puck to get smooth takeoffs. I year later, I got to ride in Rxman720b's (Derrick) T74 powered 20b at Sevenstock 7. Aside from the outrageous power of that beast, I noticed the smooth takes off from a stop. I asked him what clutch he was running and he told me it was a ACT pressure plate with a STOCK disk. I was shocked the stock disc was holding the power. He was making around 500rwhp. Loving the way this felt I decided to buy a stock disc myself to install on my 20b. It feels perfect with my clutch. The engagement is very stock like.
Just remember you can mix and match disc because all you really need is more clamping force.

i have suggested, installed and not had many issues at all with just about any ACT clutch, they do exactly what they advertise they will do.
most people quickly disregard stock clutches when they actually can hold their own, still running an aftermarket OE clutch in my TII that has about 60k miles and is holding fine still at over his target HP goal.

I make similar power to you and I changed my clutch a few months back.
I went with an exedy sportstuff hd clutch with the organic disc.
I took the advice of the forum at the time and got a full faced clutch disc and im glad i did.
Couldent be happier.
My 2c is dont get a puck clutch unless you plan on substantially more power in the future.

My clutch actually slip a lot from stop and starting in deep a climb gooing out of some garage for example.
During Highway in 3th or 4th gear at full power it seems to handle.
But beleve me leav the clutch and se the car not mooving.. is not nice

i dont recommend the ACT street / strip . Mine lasted less than 10,000 miles, when I was making around 350-400whp. ACT makes a sprung 6 puck clutch, which makes drivability a lot better.
Was it the clutch disc? Issues with the PP? Do you track or drag race? What were the specific issues? 10k miles isn't much. I've had mine in for over 50k with a few autocrosses thrown in and it's still going strong.
if they were only lasting 10k regularly in customers cars i would know about it and i wouldn't be suggesting them.

is there anyone on here running a aftermarket pressure plate and stock clutch? like mentioned above.. when my swaps done im hoping for 400 hp and if my stock clutch(which only has 10K on it) with a aftermarket pressure plate will hold that much power and drive great on the street that would be king ****
I would go w/the ACT heavy duty pressure plate and the 6-finger disc w/sprung hub myself. I also am a big fan of the SR Motorsports aluminum flywheel, nice pc..
I got my clutch from the RX7 Store, good price, but I'm sure theres tons of places its just I've had good luck w/them thats all.
I would stay away from the Centerforce one if it were me. I dont care for those at all myself.
