VA Deflood Procedure and Internal Steam Clean

Spent the majority of yesterday deflooding my engine. I also steam cleaned my internals while I was playing with the engine. Overall, the process was simple but time consuming because the engine was heavily flooded. It took a total of six (6) times to clear this flood. Here are the steps I performed:

1. Remove EGI fuse
2. Disconnect Plug wires then remove Spark Plugs
3. Clean and de-foul spark plugs (brake/carb cleaner works well)
4. Crank engine while depressing throttle to floor for 10sec (3 times)
*. Note: Fuel vapor should be seen (and smelt) escaping the engine bay
5. Inject Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) to both Leading Spark Plug holes
6. Replace Spark Plugs then reconnect Plug wires
7. Reinstall EGI fuse
8. Crank engine normally
*. Note: Be prepared to lightly pump throttle while engine normally cranks
9. Repeat Steps 1 thru 8 until engine normally starts.

Additional notes:
- Have a battery tender, charger, or fresh battery on hand. The many times spent cranking the engine will drain the charge.
- Be patient, plan on spending a few hours
- Auto Trans Fluid (ATF) is one of several alternatives to MMO
- Expect plenty of billowing smoke to exit the tailpipe for a few minutes
- I chose to reuse the same spark plugs because the cathodes looked OK
- It is HIGHLY recommended to change the engine oil due to gas contamination. However, I did not detect gas contamination in my oil therefore I suspended an oil change.

Water Injection for Internal Steam Clean:

After my struggle with deflooding the engine, I decided to inject Distilled Water into the engine compartment via vacuum points (2) on the Upper Intake Manifold (UIM). I was surprised to see a lack of steam escaping the exhaust so I only injected .5 gal per rotor vice 1 gal as others recommend. Many others already documented these procedures therefore I'll provides links.
