Stupid Question. Which way does the clutch go in?

It is the ACT street clutch. There is yellow dots on one side and where the tranny shaft goes sticks out further on that side. Does this side go toward the tranny?
I have never installed a clutch before.

Thanks,

Brady Mahoney

I wonder if it will still work if installed backwards? Which I don't plan on doing.

I seem to have that question every time I pull a clutch.
The side of the pressure plate that sticks out further goes towards the transmission.

Just so you guys don't think I am a total idiot. I am talking about the clutch disk not the pressure plate.

Will it blow up and kill me if I put it in backwards?

I can't tell from the picture. I can't see the clutch disk.

HAHA, I meant the clutch disk not the pressure plate. I don't know what I was thinking.

One side of the splined ring will hang out further on one side than the other. The longer side goes towards the trans.

Just remember the yellow dots and the SFI tag face the trans.
