Stupid boost gauge...little help plz

Okay im about to be on my 3rd boost gauge, im not sure why but it keeps getting miss dialated, Like about 1month ago it was reading perfectly now it reads kind've off like my EBC will read 0 and my Boostgauge will read like -5, usally there about the same point. Do i have to use certain fittings like the ones that come with it and use that little plastic hose? im using a 3mm vacume hose with a custom fitting right now.

o yea, when the car is off the boostgauge will read -1 instead of 0

Any help will be appreciated.

The gauge position when the car is off is not really all that important (as their is no power going to the gauge so it doesn't really matter where it sits). The real way to test the gauge would be to use a MityVac or something that can push metered air into the vacuum line for you to somewhat verify the settings.

Yes, you can check vacuum, but you would want to test both vacuum and boost sides. As far as the line and fittings, it doesn't really matter in the sense of whether it will read properly or not as long as you arn't trying to use some fiber optic line.

Hmmm, I've been using an Autometer now since about 2000 without problems. I would still go head and test the gauge to see if there really is a problem or not.
