Stumble after changing plugs

Changed my plugs today. Now I've got a huge stumble if I get on it . Could this be my plug wires ?

Did you make sure to get the wires hooked back up in the correct order? Properly fit on the spark plugs? Correct spark plugs?

I did one at a time, so they should be right. Idle and part throttle are fine. They look good, but it's been awhile since they were changed. Plugs are all 7's, wanted to go a bit hotter to try to pass smog.

maybe going all 7's was your problem you should be able to pass with the 9's and the 7's.

You should have no problems passing smog even with all 9s....running 7s in the trailing is a bad idea.

On the same note of plugs, Advanced Auto (like an autozone) suggested buying two different plugs (leading and trailing) each with different gaps. That's what the computer called for. So when looking at the motor itself, which ones are leading and which one's are trailing? Would that make a difference?

Did you unhook anything else? Maybe turned the ignition on while something wasn't hooked up? Any codes?

Rynberg why is running 7s in the trailing a bad idea? I just unflooded my car and realized that the previous owner had 7s to the trailing to leading and trailing. I am going to change it tomorrow to 9s all around, but I just hope that having the 7s on there didn't do any damage. Also could having 7s all around cause hard warm starts? Thanks.

7s are too hot a plug...equals the tips can get too hot and cause pre-ignition.

Thanks Rynberg for the reply. Also does anyone know if using 7s on all four would cause the hard starts and/or rough idle? Thanks again.

shouldn't, the advantage of the hotter plugs would be their resistance to fouling.
