Stuff I did on my FD today - What about yours?

OK really quick - the idea behind this thread is to have a daily-updatable thread where you can write about all the little stuff you do with your car (or even big stuff). Posting pictures and chatting within the thread is encouraged.

To post pics use img codes

I'll start things off with the stuff I've done tonight. 7/06/12

When I bought my car the tachometer didn’t work due to whoever changed the faces out on the gauge pushed the needle too far in and it was stuck at 1200 rpm. I also plastic Epoxied all the broken clips back till I can get a new gauge lid.

Also over the lase weekend i pulled the front end off car to fix a bumper issue. I found that i have a crushed oil cooler plus i pulled the intercooler off to hunt down a bad cupler and check turbos for shaft play.

Bumper off the car
Found part of the issue. I guess the paint shop use a house hold black silicone to hold upper bumper bracket on.

Crushed oil cooler.. time for a upgrade

Also noticed that the radiator had no upper mounts so i made my own.

Had almost no shaft play but i think the turbos aren’t as new as i was told they were.

Got a flexpipe welded into to my downpipe. Couldn't meet SCCA noise regs, so I put the Magnaflow resonator back on.

Since the last time it was on the wastegate was plumbed through the exhaust, and I couldn't close about 1/8" gap on one side of the exhaust flange. Now that all looks fine, just trying to get the downpipe lined up again with the V-Band clamp.

V-Bands are fine, once you get the pipes lined up. Always takes several tries to get rid of exhaust leaks.

it's nice to see how the little things are done, especially when you haven't done them yet.

Cool thread

For the last 2 weeks or so every day after work I was tearing wonderful parts off of Carols old show car to provide to all my wonderful loyal customers

Fixed the unlock rod on one of the DD cars (was bent and wouldn't unlock the car with the key)

Took out the m2 med and intake on one of the DD cars. Installed an efini y pipe and then tried to put the PFS smic in but the koyo N flow is too fat so that's coming out today and a fluidyne will have to replace it. Car has AC so don't tell me it will fit. Sure I can take off the front bumper and rework all kinds of stuff but moving the condenser and rad further down and effing up the air flow even more is not for me.

Put a short shifter in one of the DD cars and swapped out the stock tails in favor of some 99s

Tried to diagnose a radio issue with one of the cars I just bought but I'll probably have to swap it out.

So I'll be drenched in sweat later today what do you fellas have planned

PS this week the big project will be dropping the rear end out of Carol's car to put in my track car....... FUN STUFF I may take some pics of that one and post hear

I started to check for boost leaks today. Found three leaks in a couple of seconds. Two of them were from my couplers, and the other big one is coming from my home made tester lol.

I ran out of time so I will seal the tester another day and try again.

Pulled into my driveway and reached for the drivers window switch to roll up my window. A light snap was heard and the window didn't move. Yay...the switch is glued and curing right now. I'll put it back together tomorrow

I finally may have an engine to rebuild & may have a car going soon. So I got stuck in cleaning all the interior off the car. Ripped out old stereo & started polishing all my alloy parts.
Will be great to have car running after 4 years of it sitting on the lawn

took her out for ride after finishing the V-Mount setup, and relocating the Battery to rear bins, now all i have to do is weld new brackets to the condenser and make new a/c lines.

I bled my brakes after installing my Tein Flex's last week.
I changed my oil because it has tons of gas in it from me forgetting to put something together two years ago
I stared at my new rims more that I installed last week. :-D

I dont like the headlights :-( I was hoping they would be more sleek. They dont match with the 99 spec turn signals at all lol.

This was on Monday but I FINALLY installed an R2 front lip spoiler on my '94, after 9 years of ownership and 9 years of wanting to do it... did it despite the recent boost problem I'm having.

Will order check valves from Dale and next week, stuff I did on my FD today will involve replacing most of the check valves hoping that fixes my problem.
