Studder, No BOV?
Hey guys,
Ive had my FD for a few days now and i noticed that when at WOT the car sorta feels booged down, it just dosent have that umpppfff. Also, when i accelerate hard and back of i dont hear the BOV at all, the car has 58k on it and im worried that the Turbos or engine is bad.. The engine is stock and was driven by a 59 year old man ( for whatever thats worth ). Does anyone have any ideas as for what Troubleshooting steps i could take??
On a side note. The car idles fine revs fine, starts fine. It dosent smoke at all.. Any Suggestions? thanks.

WOT is not what makes a turbo car fast...a good driver with good throttle control makes the car fast!!! ask anyone on this forum and they will tell you their cars in each gear are pull harder at different throttle positions ..... instead of WOT.....try 3 quarter throttle and you will learn your car will pull like you didnt know you could....well man have fun and peace out

im guessing you really need to change out the spark plugs and you also may have a vacuum line that cracked causing low boost because these cars are fast as hell even stock with low miles.
get a boost gauge and let us know from 2k in 3d gear floor it and see what happens

Maybe some places are just tuning drivers instead of cars.... In that case, I'd say somebody in South Florida needs to get his ecu and his car's retuned. I'm not sure if there's many shops that provide tuning services for both.

ok, i hooked a boost guage up and at idle i pull negative 16-17 psi. in first gear ( witch always feels quick as **** ) i get to 10-12 psi.. Then in second it goes to 10 the drops to like 3 psi then the higher the rpms go the lower it drops till it hits 1. thrid gear it jumps to 6 then slowly drops down.. IT seems like whenever im in the higher rpm range boost drops like a rock.. Any suggestions.. this is getting dispressing
Also, where is the BOV mounted at? does it vent to air or is a bypass valve? thanks guys, i realllly appreciate all your help and advise!!!

I found a vaccum hose that is right below the vaccum chamber, the hose runs to no where......right to the left of that hose is a nipple that does not have anything attached to it.. does this hose loop around and plug into the nipple?!?!? Attached is a pic.. sorry for the size.

well, first off the hose being disconnected is not correct. That hose goes somewhere, but its rather hard to tell where its coming from in that picture. That tube you see with no line coming from it is for the automatic trans cars, not the MT. Look for another nipple with no line on it.
And im pretty sure about it, but I could be mistaken, do you have another picture from a different view? It might be easier to tell if thats the AT line or not.
