strut bar install question

I just bought the greddy front and cusco rear strut bars. I wanted to know if they were fairly easy to install. ie, one man job. are there any complications i should know about before i try and do this myself.
also, does the cusco rear strut bar fit under those plastic caps that cover the mounts or do you just take them off?
thanks.

The front strut bar is very easy to install. I am not sure about the rear, but I imagine it would be easy also. The front only took me 5 minutes to install. As for the rear, I have no clue if it will fit under the plastic caps. If they don't fit, you can always use a dremel.

Exactally what college do you go to? Anyways, they are just bolt-on. For the rear, remove the covers, then you'll see.

Both are real easy. I've put both on my car. Just unbolt the rear factory bar and bolt on the new one. Piece of cake.

this question isnt unwarranted. I did a search on all 6 pages of strut bar posts, and i read one comment that said it was difficult. So i just wanted to make sure im not getting into anything i cant handle. and i dont have stock strut bar, thats why i want to know if the cusco would fit under those plastic caps. and i wont see the car again for a couple days, so i cant just go out and check.

its only difficult if your car has been in an accident and the chassis is tweaked.

Changing the strurt bars on a fd is possibly the easiest job you can do. Seriously dude, its easier than taking off a wheel.

If you can't figure this out on your own then you shouldn't own an FD.

collegekid,

Depending on the bar, some people have needed to raise the wheels off the ground to allow the suspension to relax to get them installed.

As long as the car hasn't been wrecked and never straightened, the worse thing you "might" have to do is raise the wheels off the ground. Other than that, they should fit just fine.

I find it necessary to place the (front) bar over the outer bolts first and then apply force to get it to fully seat over all three bolts. YMMV.

EDIT: I have an adjustable R1 bar.

thanks again. I just finished the install of the greddy in the front. It wasnt that easy but the car has recently had a frame adjustment. but anyway, its on successfully. my initial concern was dealing with the three nuts, i didnt know what they held in place and if the shocks would lift the body up once the bolts were loosened. But its all said and done. I have another question about the rear strut bar becuase i havent put it on yet. but i will start a new thread becuase i need some quick help. thanks again for all the info.

Why would that be? My R1 bar goes on no problem without any application of force.
Just curious....
