Strange Top End Breakup!

Well, my saga continues. I bought a twin power and new plugs. The car was running fine and pulling well for a short amount of time. Now, the car boosts okay, however, past about 6k RPMs, I hear a machine gun like backfiring. It is really strange, has anyone experienced this? What is it?

What was the procedure for resetting your ECU again? Something like hold turn the car off and press the brakes for 10 seconds? I have a PFC by the way.

with every car i've ever owned, it was unhook the negative battery cable and hold the brake for 10 seconds...but since the rx-7 is different in just about every way, thats just pure speculation on my part.

Nope, thats how you do it. Im not sure about the PFC though. I dont want you to go out and erase your map or somethin...You might wanna check into that before you go do that...I just have a pettit unlimited ecu...

PFC works the same way. You'll just have to let it relearn the idle.

yea good point, i totally forgot about that. Do that before you reset it as it will delete the codes stored on the Ecu. Good luck.
