I have a strange order coming from the engine area which I can not identify. I have just replaced the clutch, and I am of the impression that the oder is coming from the clutch settling in. I have had the exhaust examined and it meets emisions standards. Any ideas out there?

 

Mine seems to occasionally emit the distinct odor of burning money.

Mine too ..I think Mazda has a TSB for that early on.

 

what kind of clutch are you running? the ACT street/strip will always smell even after break-in...or at least mine does. glad to be getting rid of the thing for a RB sprung 6-puck.

 

It is a street/strip clutch. How long will it be before the ordor goes away? Thank you

 

I have 1500miles on act s/s clutch and new flywheel, and it does not smell at all. Maybe because I smoke in the car so I don't even notice the smell of clutch.

 

Mine just emitted that odor last week....now my car is down...
