Got a new relay from a car at jpr imports, thank you jim. I plugged in the relay and with the key off terminal 1A and 1B both have no power and both receive no power with the key on. I then tested the resistance on the relay itself, no resistance. Even when I turn the key on I dont hear the relay clicking.

We had a similar problem when we reinstalled the engine in our FC... a wire connector on the bottom of the main fuse block came loose, was almost impossible to see under there. I haven't looked that closely on the FD, don't know if it is the same kind of set up. Check the wires going to the bottom of the main fuse block, worth a try.

Good Luck!

I am ordering a new wiring harness today and hopefully another egi main relay. I am going to pick up a test light also so I can test everything in my fuse panel by the foot rest and the relay/fuse panel in the engine bay to see if everything is getting power or not and figure out if its just the relay or if I need to look at something else.

Today I picked up some circuit testers and continuity testers since i was stuck with using a DMM. So now I think I got about every tool needed to diagnose electrical problems...

I tested power to the room and engine fuse with key on and my circuit tester lit up so the wiring is good there... I then tested 1A and 1B on the ecu harness plug and it lit up again so...

I got power to the ECU and I got power to 1B which is the battery side of the EGI Main relay is you look at page 31 in the FSM electric diagram book.

I don't hear the relay clicking though...

Ok heres my question, if the relay is working then the side of the relay that has the black dots feeds power into the fuel pump relay then goes to terminal 1T

Why I ask what I am about to ask is cause if I test the egi main relay for resistance I do not get resistance so that means power cant flow out to the other side of the prong into the fuel pump relay.

So should I have power at 1T?

Got it figured out had the car running for 10sec, now I am waiting on a harness from allrotor so I can drive this beast and order a S372 turbo then go for a new tune...

I feel pretty damn good I figured this out myself I believe.

What did it end up being? I bought one that had been stored for a few years and seem to be having the same problem. I would think it was compression issues from sitting but I can get it to almost fire with starting fluid for a split second but has never once tried on fuel. I never smell raw fuel on the plugs either.

Does the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key?

rspec cx I had a fuel pump sieze up in the FC after sitting for a few years.... I had to kick it backwards for a second and whatever was lodged in it broke free (probably a small particle of rust or something) and has run fine since after hooking it back up correctly...

Popped in the new harness, primed the pump by touching the 12v wire i spliced to the battery sprayed some starter fluid and guess what it fired up for a sec till it drained the fuel that was primed into the system.

Now I just gotta rewire the fuel pump and connect all of the ic piping back up and the car will be complete again.

soldered the power wire back up to the fuel pump connector wire heat shrinked the wire so it will never break, turned the key and now the car runs great.

I am happy I diagnosed it and fixed it by myself.

this thread can be deleted now.
