stock wastegate question..
I've been having some boost problems. Most of them, over boost with and without a profec b. With it hooked up right, no kinks in the lines, wastegate nipple capped, ect. the car would make 10+ psi with the profec b off, or the needle valve all the way open. (It would'nt matter) But anyways, i was wondering could the wastgate not be opening up all the way, thus causing a overboost problem? And also, how would i go about testing it?
The slow spool up on the secondary turbo was a vacuum line that popped off due to one to many 18+psi runs
On the upside, with my new spyfish ic the car has never ran so hard in its life! The car feels realy strong. If i could just get the car to run 7 psi with the profec off, or the needle valve open, i would be very happy.
Thanks, CJ

Your wastegate could have broken link to the the actuator. Just use a hand pump to pump up the actuator. have someone pump while you look at the wastegate arm to see if it moves. You may need to remove some of the heat shield to get a better look.

on your wastegate there are 2 nipples that vacuum hoses go on. One is obviously for the boost controller. The other I think goes to the prespool. There is a jet in there. If you close it off all the way, you will bring your boost down. I forgot how it was on sequentials but when I had my non-sequentials, I plugged that hose all the way and it brought my boost down to 7psi and that's on nonsequential!!
