Stock Twins: Primary Oil Return Line Trouble
Stock Twins: Primary Oil Return Line Trouble
Has anyone else had trouble getting the primary oil return line from the turbos back on? I've been fighting that line for over 6 hours and just NOW got it to slide into it's place but I can't get a bolt on it. I look like I've been swimming in dirt. Is it just me or is this a horrible place for a oil return. Why didn't they just make the return like the inlet or the coolant lines? Two into one? My oil return line is actually BENT into a almost crimped shut look now. So anyone else had this problem?

i just put my twins back on today..i didn't have a problem with either one....
the line shouldn't be bent...my lines have a flex in them...used studs and nut on the secondary line..
and just bolts on the primary line....also started these bolts and nuts before tighting the turbos down...if that helps..

Did you take it all the way off , then attached it to the engine short drain tube, and now are trying to attached it to the turbo? It looks that way from the pictures.
If so, you did it backwards. You put the turbos in with both drain pipes already attached to the turbos, then bolt the rear to the rear housing, and the front to the short pipe. Even so, the front usually take extra time, but never over 30 minutes.
