For the young ones out there
it seems this guy was trying to recreate his own version of the Jaquar E Type.
Back in the early 90's this was the "in color combo". Any english sports car (Lotus Esprit or TVR Cerbera) was favored in this color combo.
In fact there was a Miata special edition with this set up. that sold well
The color is referred to British Racing Green among the traditionalists.

I can dig British racing green, but that's too light. Just looks terrible.
Also, BRG is best on a proper car, like a British roadster. Not a Japanese sports car.

Or an Allard
BRG dates from the days before sponsorship when each nation had a colour so as to be instantly recognisable, the Italians red (obviously) Germans silver, Japanese white etc, and it's a distinct dark green not that rather sickly one on the car in the OP. It's too pastelly for BRG

A bit of trivia - when watching the Goodwood Festival of Speed there was an automotive historian being interviewed.
In discussing BRG, he told the story of it actually being French in origin.
I think this is the bit here:
British Racing Green was started by the Panhard Race Car Co (French company) at the 1901 Paris - Berlin race Charles Jarratt(spl?) was awarded the number #13 for his Panhard race car. The factory tried to calm him down by giving the car a French lucky colour: GREEN - it then became BRG with it's own British Standard Colour #BS 381 C. The first "Official BRG" car was the 1903 Gordon Bennett Napier reg; DW 214.
If I can recall the fellow's name, I will see if I can find his rendition of it.

So, yes, the Napiers ran an embryonic version of BRG in 1903 but it was in honour of Ireland, nowt to do with the French *spits* lol

I remembered who the historian is: Doug Nye.
BRG does indeed seem to have been chosen by the French.
French car, French color, French race, British driver.

LOL, guilty as charged I was perverted to profound hatred of the French automotive industry by my wife's prolonged ownership of a Renault so awful it's left deep psychological scars
However, on a serious note, Wiki seems to agree with my version of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green Like most Wikipedia articles, it's unattributed so of course there's nothing to say the author has any greater claim to authenticity than Mr Nye. I guess the two versions aren't necessarily mutually incompatible anyway.
We're going way off-topic of course. I think the car in the OP is a pretty nasty colour, personally
