stock exhaust
stock exhaust
I put the stock catback and main cat back on my car today and took the dual N1 and borla midpipe off. I have to say... I LOVE IT. Its soooo quiet now. This will be much better for daily driving. No more smelling like a lawnmower either hopefully. If you need a dual N1 I will be listing mine in a few days so check the parts section later.

wasn't it loud as hell?
I'm just a young guy and I can't even stand the noise
what I think he meant is that he had a borla xr1 muffler or whatever its called welded into the midpipe to quiet things down.
I'm also interested in the midpipe if you decide how much you want

I like the lower volume too.
I hear you about having a mild sounding car for the street. I've had a few 3rd gens and the extra speed is fun with the noisy exaust, but I much more enjoy driving my current vehicle with just the down pipe and stock cat and stock mufler. The whistle of the turbos is good enough for me.
I wonder if it's possible to set up a reliable mid 350 rwhp car with the stock mufler? That's about where I'd like to be.

or you could just get the racing beat or m2 exhaust with a highflow cat or maybe even a midpipe and it's still pretty quiet.
To get 350 rwhp you would have to raise the boost to around 14 psi and have the car tuned pretty well. I don't think you would want to run 14 psi with a stock exhaust it would make the turbos work too hard and it would kill your hp. You should look into getting a streetport on your next motor.

DP, MP w/Borla, and RB Dual Tip cat back is very quiet at idle and around town, but loudens up nicely at WOT. Doesn't have that annoying tinny fart pipe sound or the droning during cruise. Plus I guarantee if you dyno'd it vs someone with a straight through DP, MP, Large/Loud Cat Back there would be practically no noticeable difference in HP.

that's probably going to be my setup.

One persons quiet ride is another persons noise maker. I would bet that our many of our younger drivers "quiet" cars would be too loud for some of our "more experienced" drivers
