Stock ECU Single Turbo How dangerous is it Really??
Yes I am well aware its a bad idea. I finally finished getting the car together but in the process i fryed my pettit racing ecu . While tightening the battery harness to the starter it moved contacting the the body. When i hooked up the battery sparks flew. Afterwards the fuel pump wouldn't prime. I tested everything changed all relays and fuses no go. I threw in the stock ecu started right up. Im tempted to drive it as is until i can afford a PFC. WHAT DO YOU THINK???
Single turbo
Emissions Removed
Bridgeported 13b
Greddy Boost Controller
Wiring harness has resistors
Dont think the rest matters............
Thanks

I think you will be ok as long as you only run stock boost levels ( although that may be incorrect because an engine with single turbo and BP may be asking for more fuel at stock boost levels than a stock motor with stock twins ) .
I wouldnt drive it personally as its a lot of work that could potentially go down the drain for the sake of waiting until you can afford a PFC

uuuhm, NO!
you might be able to move it around under vac alittlebit,
but boost? nope
every single bit of information the stock ecu sends out will be wrong for your setup
at boost the BP engine will flow shitloads more air (colder denser air to, since its single)
get a powerFC or better asap (cheaper than another rebuild)

Your engine will blow the first time you go WOT. Depending on your seals, it may last a few more pulls but it will definitely go. I don't think a Pettit ECU would work either unless it was specifically programmed for your setup. The Pettit is just for people who install exhaust/intake/ intercooler and want a little more boost. Was not designed for single turbo.

The ecu was specifically programmed for my setup. Im just going to wait ive done too much work to start from square 1 again. I just remeber seeing posts with people determined to go singe with a stock ecu.. Never seen any results though.

i think you will be ok, i broke in my motor with the base map on the pfc, i made not one psi tho and i had stock injectors. it should be ok for you to move around but dude serioulsy... get an ecu and a tune!

What size turbo? This has the recipe for disaster. Why would you run a bridge port on a reflashed stock ecu(pettit)? That porting is a complete waste with you limited fuel supply(can only run 550s/850s). You could have more power, more safely, and much more reliably with the stock twins and pettit ecu. Buy a PFC asap and have it tuned. Also spend some time reading about turbos and how 10psi on the stock twins is not equivalent to 10psi on a larger turbo flowing more volume.

??? A pfc base map is a totally different than a stock ecu map. The pfc base map is even a bit more fuel involved than the pettit unlimited. Put your foot down on it and back to us! Seriously w/ how much $$ you have involved get a good used PFC! The pettit wasnt really even enough. G
