Stock BOVs messed up

Hmmm...

I was getting ready to do the stock BOV venting trick when I realised three things :
1) the BOV closest ot the air box appears to be fitted the wrong way round (the arrow is facing pointing away from the air box).
2) on the same BOV the nipple is not connected to anything
3) I didn't know how to put it right

WTF - I have been driving the car like this for 6 months and not had any boost problems but I think a previous owner as messed things up big style!

Looks like I'm going to have to buy some vacuum hose to attach the BOV correctly. Can someone please let me know where the BOV nipple connects to?

Thanks
Thud

the front nipple sticking out by the nuts that attach it to the LIM.

and the arrow is facing the correct direction.

Thanks. Why would the arrow point in the opposite direction to the air flow? This makes no sense. Pictures I have seen on other peoples BOV also suggest mine is the wrong way round - everyone else seems to have a nipple pointing backwards, mine points towards the headlight.

Air blows out, thus the direction of the arrow.

ok , now I'm confused. My set up looks like :

Turbo--------- -> -------------- <- -----air box
.....................bov.................bov

(ignore the ....)

surely this is not right?

they arent both bovs
one is the charge relief valve and the other if the blow off valve

you are correct they should both face the same direction the arrow towards the front of the car.

And I believe if there is no vacuum line from the back of the bov to the manifold then it can't sense pressure and therefore it won't release air and you will get surge.

One other thing - on your cars are the dump valve and the charge relief valve on the same piece of hose?

They are on mine which seems a bit odd....

no they are not supposed to be on the same hose. The crv will be on the y pipe furthest back to the firewall and the bov is on a seperate tube that originates from the middle of the ypipe just a little more forward (towards the front bumper) than the crv nipple.

they are 2 huge nipples about an inch wide you can't miss them. One of them must be capped. Maybe your car is running non sequential. If it isn't capped you would get little or no boost.
