With the car the way it is, you won't be able to hear the BOV. Once you get the car, you can change that by venting it to the atmosphere as opposed to the way it is now which is recirculated back into the airbox.

The stock BOV's are quiet. Do us other FD owners a favor and don't buy the car just to race on city streets and showoff with loud BOV sound. Most of us here own these for the heritage, or at least I do.
The car looks great and its low mileage. I doubt he is going to take $14,250 though. Good luck with the purchase.

I'm surprised nobody has said this yet..If you can only afford the car if he goes down $3k on his asking price because that's all you have, then this car is most likely not for you..You are spending all of your money on just the car,but what about the price of just routine maintenance? What if something goes wrong, which it most likely will? What if he isn't being as honest as you think and the motor goes? Are you prepared for that??

That car is on route 9 in Wappingers. I pass it on the way to work every day. Its garbage. The body kit is cracked to hell, and the kid had the "motors and turbos rebuilt"(I thought our cars only had 1 motor?), but has no receipts. Do yourself a favor and look for one that isn't run-down.

the sound of the blow off valve should be your last concern when buying a 3rd gen rx-7. what's more important are compression, boost pattern, modifications, mileage, etc.
if the bov sound is your big question, perhaps you shouldn't be buying an FD. anyone, before buying an FD should spend at least a few months researching the mechanics of the car...reading up on the FAQ section (in this forum) and checking sites like http://www.robrobinette.com
also, memorize this guide: http://www.robrobinette.com/buyaused.htm
finally, if you're worried about how much money you're going to spend - DON'T BUY AN FD. chances are, you're going to need to drop a few hundred, or even a couple thousand, just go get the car "up to speed" with reliability mods and regular maintenance.
after buying a used FD, the first things you should do include: change oil & filter, replace spark plugs, replace vac hoses, new air filter, new fuel filter, change coolant, replace AST (if not already done)....the list goes on...
---edit---
a quick "google background check" resulted in the following. google search "pliskin679":
http://www.google.com/search?q=plisk...ient=firefox-a
http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zero...e&id=999504543
so you're coming from a 92 civic? dude...don't get an FD. too many times, kids with civics 'trade up' for an FD and then rice it out and/or wreck it...there are only so many FD's left!!! stick with a honda.
---edit #2---
just found this post that you made:
wait, you think you're going to sell your 92 civic for "12 grand" as in $12,000?!?! are you crazy? lol, wait i thought you said it only had an "intake"...when did your 92 civic "eat an rx7"
dude....don't get an FD....

Look closely at the pictures... the duct doesn't even match up to the intercooler. That car is definitely rigged together, wouldn't be surprised to find duct tape and super glue in there.

the civic is gone it sold within one week and i took 10,450 for it. and i dont plan on modding it at all. its going to be placed under a rec. insurance plan and stored at my dads house 2 hours away, being kept in a garage. i was going to possibly take it out every weekend, thats it. and the k20 swap was recent we did it at my friends house who's been working on honda's for years and this stuff kinda comes naturally to him. all i wanted to do was change the scenery alittle and meet new people. i really hope the entire rx7 crew aren't ******** like you. to everyone else, thanks for the help.
oh yea, and the money i was offering was with money put aside for fixing it up incase something did happen. there's honda enthusiasts, and there's mazda enthusiasts, any car will sell for the right price, to the right person. And im learning, ok? im completly new the rotory thing.

I'm not trying to flame you, but in our conversation on aim you said that you were going to make it look like it came straight out of the Fast and the Furious because you thought FD's were cars that could get away with something like that. I don't know if you remember, but I didn't say a whole lot to that because.... well, that's pretty ricey to say. I just hope you stick around and read up on the site a little more. If you want to get one and do something unique to it, concentrate on getting JDM parts. Generally speaking, they don't look like ***, they're quality, and you'll be the only kid on the block with parts that you can't get anywhere else.
