Starter/ignition question...
I've just done an engine swap, stock twins to single, and went from auto trans to manual...
The problem I have is the starter does not want to fire when the ignition is turned. When I run a hard line from the battery to the starter, it works....so somehow the starter is not getting the singal/power when the ignition is turned.
There is a small single tab to the back of the starter where it gets power where a single wire clips on. There is also a single wire cip a bit further up on the harness (in the area where the AC used to be) that is not hooked up to anything. There's a blue female plug next to it, that is also not plugged in. See pics below:
I know there should be a wire hooked to the oil pressure sending unit (see pic) which there isn't, which is the same style single tab clip that goes to the starter...
does this clip in the picture (white single tab) go to the oil pressure sending unit.....or do I have the wrong clip on the starter, and that should go instead to the oil pressure sending unit, and the clip I have that is hooked up to nothing should go down to the starter??
Another thing that gets me....when we turned the ignition (fuel pump now running) and fired the starter with a hard line (starter now turning over) the car would not fire up, suggesting no spark...
I've been searching for the past day and a half trying through old threads to narrow it down, but can't seem to pinpoint it.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would greatly appreciated.

Update: The starter issue has been resolved....
Everything now functions as it should when the key is turned, minus the engine firing. It will turn over, but wont fire...
It's getting fuel, thats not an issue. We've taken a plug from the old engine (which works fine, so that shouldn't be an issue) and put it into the plug wire and held it next to a ground to test for spark, but no spark is visible.
The HKS twin power box is working fine, the LED is on, so that should not be an issue either...
Plugs, plug wires are all fine...everything appears to be hooked up and connected as it should be. Any suggestions ??
