Start up issues - Help please!!

Ok so I've recently imported a new FD (1996), & Is now in the UK.

It has driven fine for around a month or so & started up first time every time.

I tried to start it up today and it got going although ignition did take a suspicious amount of time, then the whole car began shaking pretty badly so I knocked it off quickly as it was obvious something was wrong.....almost as if something was going through it which shouldn't be, there wasn't any backfires or anything.

Then I waited a few minutes, topped up the oil which was admittedly pretty low, but shouldn't have affected running conditions.

Then tried starting it up again, now the engine won't even turn over, a little bit like when a battery is on its way out.

The battery is pretty much brand new, so it can't be that, I had another spare battery anyway so changed it just incase, but still the same problem.

The only other thing I've done with this car is top up the radiator coolant with a coolant/water mixture roughly 50/50, with some suspect coolant which I found in my shed. I'm no Rotary expert but I wouldn't have thought that a coolant would affect a cold start up in this way?

That's basically it, if anyone has had similar problems or can offer any help or suggestions that'd be great! Thanks for reading!

I would check to see if it's flooded. Then I'd check the spark plugs to see if they're firing. I'd try boosting the car too.

Take out the plugs and check if it's full off water. Could be a broken water seal.
