I been searching around on some Japanese used cars sites and There is several Spirit R's listed. most of them are listed as 2003. I also found some listed as 2002. Comming from a FC background Im not fully up to speed on FD's. Can someone share some Spirit info. I know that there is 1500 of them, Type A , B and C.

 

and for being only 1500 of them there sure seams to be alot of them for sale

Seems to be 3 types - A, B, C, and Type R Bathhurst.

Tranny - A, B, and Bathhurst are 5-speed. C is automatic.

Type A has the boss Recaro seats, the BBS 17" wheels. The A also doesn't have back seats, has the "skid plate" on the passenger floor.

Type B looks to have leather seats, typical FD seats at least, not the fancy Recaros. Also looks to have the BBS 17" wheels. Back seats.

Type C is automatic, BBS wheels.

Bathhurst looks like the stripped-down model. 16" wheels, bobo looking E-brake and parking brake boot, cloth seats.

Not sure what year my brochure is for - I *think* it's a 2002. From what I remember, FD production ended August 2002.

If you need more detailed info, I can scan some pages in for you. That's as good as I can do without knowing Japanese .

it has both 2003 and 2002's listed. today I found about 30 or so of them forsale just listed on car sites like the above link

 

They were only made in 2002. And to expand onwht Dale was saying:

Type A: Red Recaros, 17" Gunmetal BBS rims, no back seat, manual only
Type B: Red leather seats, 17" Gunmetal or Silver BBS rims, back seat, manual or automatic
Type C: Red leather seats, 17" Silver BBS rims, back seat, automatic only

 

so I called two of the shops on that website today. the ones selling 2003 and asked them to look at the title. and they said the title is year heisei 15 nen. so they kept saying it a 2003. year heisei 15 = 2003

they seem to go for about 3.5million yen or thereabouts for the average example (they were around 4million when new). The production run began in april 02 and finished in august. I would say the cars were first registered in heisei 15.
