I bought a project '93 FD with no intrument cluster and recently replaced it with one from another '93 car. Does the speedometer itself keep the mileage or is it stored in one of my original ECM? This speedo the owner said is lower mileage (54K) than what my car has on it (93K).

Just don't want to add to the confusion when I try to get this car registered/smogged.

The speedo keeps the mileage. Very wierd, but true.
