speed limiter wire JDM 93

i haven't been able to test it out yet but from searching the site i found someone saying this wire was the one that sent the 180kph/115mph signal to the ECU and caused the speed limiter to kick in

i've cut it and soldered in a switch accessable from the drivers seat

do non JDM cars also have this green/red wire on the 12pin connector behind the speedo?

well my jdm fd is not running yet, so i can't say for this car yet..

however you should be looking for the speed limiter wire going to the ECU, not behind the gauge cluster...there should not be a wire that you can simply cut to overide the limiter...the limiter is reading your speed though the speed sence wire going to the ECU.
I've overided a speed limiter on an EG6 with a fields vafc...

also why are you wanting to put a switch between the bridged wire?

there is a few ways to do it on an FD ive found...

there is a jumper harness that overides the limiter, they are sold on eBay, i can't find any at the current moment though..they were in the $60-$120 range if i remember correctly.

the apexi safc has a speed limiter overide function, figure under $300 for this.

or you can get a standalone unit and you will also be able to overide the limiter.

why put a a switch in?

because if it's not the right wire and i have any other problems i can just flick the switch to test if my cutting that wire has anything to do with the problem without having to pull the dash out

also if/when i do get to test it, at speed, having a switch will pretty quickly let me know if cutting that wire makes any difference
