yes, all JDM cars are speed limited at 111mph.

For the OP, it's hard to say which wire to cut on the 16bit ECU, there aren't many people with 96+ cars on this forum. Your best bet would be to ask a JDM RX-7 shop (RE-A, FEED, Scoot, etc), OR get a Knightsports FCD. They are cheap and they remove fuel cut as well as the speed limiter.

I have an 92 FD3S too, so please tell me the which cable must be cut off.?
If there are more cables with the same colour, could you tell us if its the, for example, 3rd cable from left or so?

thx

This is the right wire! Warning, there's two or three wires red and green, this is the right one. You absolutely need to unplug the yellow plug (the lowest or the highest, I don't remember which one of those two). Then, you'll see the famous wire.

To unplug the yellow wire, you need to push the button in the back of it, and to PULL HARD (Do not be scared to pull by the wires, this is okay!).

Hehe i didnt cut the wire so far, as you wrote, after reading the whole thread, i have a bad feeling about cutting wires too.
So i guess i will start at first with a redom ecu ( since they are cheap ) or better, with a pfc - but at first, my car has to run without problems.

thx
Andi

it works on the 16bit ECU, too. i just tried it an my 97 model
2 days ago. but, the speed signal for my HKS Turbo Timer was
connected to this green/red cable and now it wont read any speed.

can i just ground this wire or is there another speed signal
i can tap my HKS into? i need the digital speedo from the
HKS to read speeds above 180km/h...
