Watched that today... It has some issues, that's for sure. We'll see how it looks when they tear into it.

It is funny though how they don't know a damn thing about the car, yet talk trash about a neglected car with a blown engine.. I guess is part of the show.
But if it is fd related i want to watch..

They are trying to figure it out by disassembling without reading a single piece of research.
I hear Iraq and China are hiring for this type of job in aerospace.

I saw this car for sale in Quebec a few years ago. It must have passed through a few hands since then because, when I saw it listed, it still ran.

I lost all respect for Speed Academy when they had a "towing" build segment and didn't even mention a load balancing/anti-sway hitch. Towing anything substantial without one gets scary and is flat out dangerous!

Their channel name is a title not a description..

Yeah it's been an OK Youtube channel, some of their videos have been solid but lately they haven't had anything that really interested me. They had one guy who had an RX-7 track car (you see his car in the intro) who was on a few episode talking about his FD, he seemed pretty sharp and the car was solid.

I'll be interested in checking this one out, though!

I was a little sad when they said they were going down the single turbo route. It would have been cool to see a BNR build, for example.

I'm really glad they're keeping it a rotary, though.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to the series. It'll be a breath of fresh air compared to the normal Youtube slammed/wide body "builds" that everyone else does.

Their Evo VI looks to becoming along nicely too. It's not perfect but they're doing a solid job. I saw that car before before they bought it (it was for sale locally for 2 years) and it was trashed. Think 16 year old kid, slammed, rice burner, never did a single maintenance item kind of TRASHED.

Yes, I am surprised at how well the Evo is turning out.

I didn't like (but understand) the BMW M3 supercar killer 2JZ swap – I'd rather see the S54 engine built, but I'm sure it didn't make sense from a financial, performance, or originality point of view.

They're local guys, so I would definitely support them and hope to meet them at an event someday, but they don't have the means to do the kind of show cars you see from bigger operations.

I haven't really seen much of this channel before, but I had fun watching it. There are a million videos out there of folks dissecting FD's who already know everything about them, it was interesting to watch non-rotary car folks take a crack at it and see what they thought. I'm looking forward to seeing them progress and learn more about it.

I like those guys and enjoy watching their channel. I don't think I would let them wrench on my car, but I think they have nice sensible taste and build philosophy. I'm sure this will be better than the red FD the 'B Is For Build' clown hacked up.

Ya I think it's fun watching them go through the same process of learning about rotaries that we all went through at some point. Kinda nostalgic. Plus it's quite amusing watching then stumble through the engine bay trying to figure out what everything is. 😂 We'll see how it turns out.

The person that bought that car has been going back through it and cleaning a lot of it up. I've chatted with him a bit, he's a good guy.

I had my doubts when I leaned that the B is for Build car got sold but the guy who bought it is doing a solid job. He's taking his time and doing things right. I've watched all his videos and it just goes to show what kind of hack jobs these youtubers do to please the 12 year olds and pump out the videos

It's been a while since the last update, but I like his thorough approach to unhacking the FD.

^Matt's videos are a bit lengthy but it's nice seeing such attention to detail - especially for the interior.

As someone who plans to rip an engine apart in the future and build my own it never hurts to have more sources of information. It helps that this channel is pleasant to listen to too lol.

The build series turned out really well. I wasn't sure where it was going after all the misconceptions about the stock sequential setup in the intro episode. Hopefully they get that custom motor running and racing.
