Question Specialty gasket? or other solution Turbo wastgate door issue.

I have an exhaust leak coming from the cover that bolts over the wastegate door. It's on the outside of the turbo, accessible from the bottom of the car. It's about a 2x2in cover and one full side leaks copious amounts of exhaust.

I called malloy to pick up a gasket as I thought I'd just missed it when I upgraded to the 99's. Apparently there is no such gasket. I tried some high temp gasket sealent but it did not work and just made a mess.

I've never made a metal gasket before. Is this the best (or only) option? Anything else i can try?

Sealent is useless for 1800 degrees , what a waste of time . Make a gasket from cardboard then copy that to steel sheet or copper . Steel is better .If you need help with the steel work or copper , let me know .

It could be leaking because i used the old door on the new set of turbos. I only suspect this because it's leaking, I can't think of why else it would leak and I cant think of how to fix it other than to use a gasket (or weld the bastard).

Ray crowe told me that there was no gasket. Can someone confirm if this is true or not? I'd love to use a factory one if someone has one they can sell me. I'd be happy to gratiously paypal for the part if it exists.

There is a gasket, but it doesn't come separate from the turbos. I can go look in my stash of turbo parts and see if I have one, but since it's used there's no good guarantee it will seal well. But it's going to be a whole lot better than no gasket.
